With an original mission to “save the world by overloading it with mincegore” shared through numerous demos, EPs, and splits over those initial three years, the message eventually evolved in conjunction with the world continuing to go to shit… basically. It’s mincecore exactly as it should be… at least that’s what I’m led to believe and assume.įor those looking for a little additional background on Houkago Grind Time (a brief, yet noteworthy journey to be clear) the project came to be through a demo in 2019. A self-proclaimed novice guitarist who has been playing the guitar since the fourth grade and whose parents are working in a jazz band. The surprising clarity of each note from each layer of sound, and the galloping cadence underneath it all, makes this pretty damn easy to ingest. Azusa is a new student who joins the light music club and plays a Fender Mustang electric guitar but she is also in possession of a Gibson Les Paul Custom 50th Anniversary Gold Top (as seen in episode 13). And the wild thing is, within all of that pummeling chaos, it’s packaged in a way that feels completely organized and logical.
